Process Improvement & Systems Builder (Google Sheets)

As a production manager and business owner, my dive into Google Sheets and Google Apps Script started purely out of necessity. I was losing hours to manual data entry and administrative bottlenecks, so I began coding my own digital tools to get that time back. Today, I focus on building bespoke, highly reliable systems that solve real-world operational problems. Whether it’s calculating complex supply chain lead times or processing retail sales, I write the automation that eliminates manual tracking so teams can actually focus on scaling the business. Key Automation & Systems Projects: Manufacturing Inventory & Supply Manager: Engineered a live inventory system that monitors current stock, analyzes daily usage rates, and automatically factors in supplier lead times to accurately forecast future ordering needs. Quality Control & Production Line Tracker: Designed a data-driven QC system to track yield rates (passed vs. rejected units). As the floor scaled, I collaborated with a software engineer to integrate this Sheet-based backend with a custom app, enabling real-time tracking of individual items as they moved through assembly. Retail POS & ERP (Takoyaki Business): Scripted a fully customized Point of Sale, ERP, and inventory monitoring system from scratch to manage daily operations, track sales, and forecast supplies across two growing retail branches. Food Manufacturing ERP (Biscuit Company): Built a comprehensive materials management and ERP system to track raw ingredients, calculate batch yields, and streamline the entire production flow for a commercial baking operation.

Leveraging my formal training in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) methodologies, my approach to process improvement is deeply rooted in practical, hands-on problem-solving. Having built a startup's manufacturing flow from the ground up, I learned quickly how to identify operational bottlenecks and engineer out inefficiencies. My focus is on standardizing workflows, establishing clear standard operating procedures (SOPs), and building sustainable systems that prevent critical details from falling through the cracks. Key Process Improvement Projects: Production Flow & Standardization: Architected the physical floor layout and mapped the step-by-step assembly process for a startup manufacturing facility. Authored comprehensive operational manuals and personally trained the assembly team to ensure consistent, highly standardized output. Data-Driven QC & Yield Optimization: Engineered a quality control monitoring system to track passed units versus rejected materials. By analyzing this data, we were able to pinpoint the exact stages where defects were occurring, adjust the workflow, and significantly improve our overall production yield. Real-Time Assembly Tracking: Identified a loss of visibility on individual units as our manufacturing team scaled. To solve this, I mapped out the entire assembly workflow and partnered with an in-house software engineer to deploy a custom app that tracks items through production and testing in real time. Business Workflow Automation: Systematized the day-to-day operations for two of my own entrepreneurial ventures (a food retail business and a commercial biscuit manufacturer). By auditing our administrative bottlenecks, I built custom ERP systems that completely eliminated manual tracking and freed up valuable time to focus on business growth.

My Fusion 360 experience comes directly from the manufacturing floor. I started using CAD in Japan, designing precision hardware for surveillance lens stabilizers built to survive heavy winds. Because I've actually managed assembly lines, my approach to design is highly practical. A 3D model isn't useful if it's too expensive or difficult to build, so my main focus is Design for Manufacturability (DFM). I make sure that whatever I draw on the screen can actually be machined, 3D printed, and put together by the team without unnecessary headaches or delays. I handle the whole process: sketching the concept, modeling it in Fusion 360, exporting the G-code for CAM, and running the physical prototypes myself. Key Design & Prototyping Projects: Surveillance Lens Stabilizers (Japan): Designed rugged hardware components for camera stabilization systems used in high-wind environments. Modeled the parts in Fusion 360 and exported the designs directly to G-code for CNC production. End-to-End Product Development: Modeled two original commercial products from scratch in Fusion 360. I handled the entire lifecycle—from the initial 3D design and physical prototyping to sourcing components and finalizing the design for mass production. Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Regularly evaluated and modified existing 3D models to improve their structural integrity and cut down assembly time on the floor, making them significantly easier and cheaper to produce. 3D Printing & Rapid Prototyping: Set up and managed a fleet of 3D printers to rapidly test and iterate my CAD designs. I also trained the production staff on how to properly operate and maintain the machines for ongoing use.
