Product Design Engineer

• Studying a design brief • Thinking of possible design solutions • Produce 3D and 2D drawings for a variety of projects that will be used in manufacturing, assembly or for prototyping. • Work with production team to ensure the product is manufacturable and within cost expectations. • Create Product layouts, technical/engineering drawings with Bill of Materials • Create detailed installation instruction guide with 3D images and renderings • Consult with clients internally and externally to determine requirements for designs • Researching whether the design will work and be cost-effective • Assessing the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-assisted engineering (CAE) software to create prototypes • Collecting and analysing data from tests on prototypes • Modifying designs and retesting them writing regular progress reports and presenting them to project managers and clients • Determining the project requirements, including researching target audience, usage of product and functionality • Determining manufacturing requirements and processes • Determining production costs and strategizing the most cost-effective means of production • Evaluating the final product in terms of appearance, performance, functionality, durability and safety • Implementing feedback and making revisions

Assist clients in applying and troubleshooting SOLIDWORKS in their design/development, analysis, and manufacturing tasks Ensure customers are successfully engaged and utilizing SOLIDWORKS through telephone, web, and email Exercise of problem-solving skills and processes to assist our clients Obtains feedback on an ongoing basis while developing solutions for clients to ensure that we meet, and exceed, their needs and expectations Helps to resolve issues while providing clear communication to the client Works with clients to maintain a happy and healthy business relationship Capture and own customer issues throughout the Service organization to ensure customer success and loyalty Triage customer calls and provide basic technical support and advisement
