Educator & Visual Designer

Used heavily for quick development of classroom learning materials and assets for institutional multimedia assets such as posters, certificates, videos, etc.

I've always done it as a secondary role compared to my other responsibilities. As such, I have worked on a variety of graphic design projects for both corporate and educational institutions. For corporate, the focus was improved customer and site level communications of business needs and achievements by enhancing data and process visualizations. While for education, it was a combination of designing learning experiences and relevant materials and creating engaging and visually compelling video and graphic content for events and other needs as institutional support.

Designed and developed solutions for various customer and institutional problems such as a test manifold for an uncommon installation use case of a customer, workload monitoring application for an engineering team, and a tool management system to address prematurely withdrawn tools.

Developed business improvement initiatives with cross functional teams using lean systems, tools, and problem solving activities. Strengthened multiple project team capabilities by providing trainings, workshops , regular check-ins and need based coaching. Supplemented capability building activities with refinement and development of relevant, engaging, and easy to understand materials and publications.

The lack of mastery is a result of using different CAD and CAM software in different institutions. During college, our university was using Dassault Systems' CATIA, when I was working in corporate, the company used Siemens NX, and now that I am in education, I use Sketchup and FreeCAD because they are the ones accessible to students.

Used for more specific graphic design projects that could not be covered by Canva. This include larger format print publications, vector graphics, and intermediate photo editing.

Focused on using the web version. I have made product and solution designs using Sketchup for personal and instructional use cases. I have also used the application to introduce 3D modelling to secondary level students as a design tool for engineering prototyping.

Used for personal and work related photo processing. Personal applications were mainly for social media postings so this is where I explored the more creative side of it such as color grading. While professional applications were mainly for making photos excellent for publications, posters, and institutional videos.

Designed and developed a 5S Maturity program for a manufacturing company inclusive of realigned assessment matrix intended to better capture 5S growth, training module and workshop, and project plan. Additionally, I developed and implemented interactive, inquiry-based learning experiences for students (secondary level) with diverse needs in Computer Science, Engineering, and Art and Design
