Digital Project Manager

I have been a project manager for the past decade. My project management experience spans both traditional and digital publications, translation, and marketing. Managing publication and content projects marries my love for books and my skills in quality assurance, organization, process planning, and execution.

As an experienced project manager, clear communication is one of my top priorities. Day-to-day PM work, like mapping out job scope, managing timelines, delegating tasks, following up on output, creating SOPs, and reporting progress, all depend on clear, concise, and correct communication. My job is to ask the right questions, clarify terms, and make sure all stakeholders are updated. Excellent communication is foundational to being a top-notch project manager.

In all the PM roles I have acquired, one of the first things I do on the job is to create a process map of existing projects, many of which have no documentation or standard workflow. This allows me to have a bird's eye view of the company's vision in relation to the product and projects we handle. At the same time, having a clear process map---then developed into an SOP---allows for efficient time management, clearer task delegation, and timely redirection (if needed). This ensures that projects progress in a timely manner, all stakeholders are on the same page, and your human and monetary resources are managed efficiently.
