What I would actually test for
Don't hire based on a resume.
Give them these tasks:

Create an invoice in Square.
Write a follow-up email for an unpaid estimate.
Build a simple network diagram from your notes.
Create an equipment inventory spreadsheet.
Research a Ubiquiti part and provide pricing.
Organize a project folder structure.
If they can do all six without hand-holding, they're worth hiring.
For where Master Mounts is headed, I think your first remote hire should be about 70% operations/admin and 30% technical documentation. That gives you someone who can handle the daily office work while also turning your field notes, photos, and audits into professional reports so you're not stuck doing paperwork at midnight after a jobsite.
