Profile Description

Disclaimer: I do not claim to be an expert for all the skills and capabilities I have mentioned, but I am confident that I am good at them. I can even confidently say that I am better at them than most.
Being a student at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, I can say that I have had more than my fair share of not only dealing with paperwork, but other academic tasks and activities as well. Under their BS Biology program, we were taught and trained to be hands-on with our methodology. Majoring in Wildlife Biology also gave me the necessary skills and knowledge when conducting fieldwork for my studies and research. And being a cadet and graduate of the University's Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) further enhanced my skills in thinking and acting reasonably and calmly while under pressure, because the University's ROTC program takes pride in ensuring that they would produce highly reliable Philippine Army Reservists that are more than ready when duty calls.
I may be an undergraduate, and yes, I have not been able to finish my studies, but the skills and knowledge I gained from my stay in the University gave me the capability to be able to effectively accomplish the tasks assigned to me when I was accepted for work by my previous employers.
For most of my working years, I have been employed under government offices. Initially, I was a clerk, and rescuer, at our Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. This was where I began to fully utilize my skills in not only writing and presenting reports, but also in planning and conceptualizing by contributing to the plans by the Local Government to enhance their capabilities when it comes to Disaster Risk Reduction, Calamity Preparedness, and Humanitarian Aid.
Then, when the COVID Pandemic Lockdowns were implemented, I was reassigned to our locality's COVID Isolation Facility under the same office, where I served not just as a clerk and front-desk personnel, but also as healthcare worker/provider for the COVID patients that were brought to our facility. All the while, during the weekends, especially after the lockdowns were lifted, I reported and participated in the various activities conducted by our Unit in the Philippine Army Reserve.
Finally, after working as a clerk, rescuer, and healthcare worker in our Municipality, I left my hometown and enlisted in the Philippine Army, where I was accepted as part of their Special Enlistment Program. This is the program where the Army scans through the details of Candidate Soldiers (CS) in search of those with skills, talents, and capabilities that the Army needs. It was here in the Army that I was able to fully show, and utilize my skills, talents and capabilities, especially in the field of writing, transcribing, editing, data entry, research, content production, and Voiceover talent. Due to these skills, I was assigned in the Research, Production, and Dissemination Company of one of the Battalions of our Regiment, where I was assigned as writer, and broadcaster for the Unit's online radio program. I was also designated as Team Leader for Research, and content producer for the Regiment's Social Media Unit. And I was often being tapped to serve as voiceover talent and narrator for the AVPs and audio recordings being produced, not just by the Philippine Army, but the other Branches of Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. All was well.
Sadly, my stint in the Army had to end due to unforeseen circumstances. Nonetheless, I was Honorably Discharged with flying colors. At the same time, this gave me the opportunity to further explore, develop my skills, and gain more experience in various other fields.
So if you happen to be searching for: a writer, may it be for scripts, reports, inventory of equipment, letters, or requests; an editor for the books, articles, scripts, reports, or letters that you wrote; a transcriber for the meetings you have participated in or for the subtitles on your videos; and a voice actor to give life to your AVPs, I am here.

Top Skills

Experience: 2 - 5 years

Becoming a Clerk and Rescuer for our Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office helped in developing this skill, since, I was not only tasked in writing and composing reports. I was also assigned to produce content for materiel regarding Disaster Preparedness, such as earthquake and flood preparations, that were either printed and distributed, or shared online through the MDRRMO's Facebook Page. Eventually, this paved the way for my successful career as writer and content creator in the Philippine Army. When I finally enlisted in the Army, I was designated as Information Support Assistance Specialist, where my Technical Writing Skill was put to good use. Here, I was mainly to compose scripts and content for posts, AVPs, and graphics that were to be disseminated not only online, but in the Areas of Operations as well.

Experience: 5 - 10 years

For the longest time, I had been transcribing since I first got my hands on typewriters and keyboards. My first summer job during my college years was assistant secretary to one of our Municipal Councilors' Official Secretary, and often, the task given to me was to transcribe the Municipal Sessions and meetings that they held. This job of transcribing continued when I became a Clerk for the MDRRMO, the COVID Isolation Facility, and eventually, when I became a writer for our Regiment in the Philippine Army.

Experience: 10+ years

Being a student of BS Biology, Major in Wildlife in the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Data Gathering had always been huge part of my career. Thanks to this skill being developed in me when I was in college, I was able to efficiently and effectively gather Data to be used for the reports I have composed, and will compose. This skill was put to good use when I was in the MDRRMO, especially when making reports on how many residents, families, and household were affected by the calamities that had hit our Municipality. This also helped in effectively determining the number of residents, families, households, and establishments that could be hit by future calamities, which paved the way for increasing their disaster preparedness through the establishing of plans for improving facilities, and evacuation routes based on the data gathered. In the Army, data gathering is important for information dissemination operations. When I was assigned as writer, I was also tasked with determining how effective our methods were in reaching the target audiences of the information we disseminate. My skill was put to good use when we checked for the number of engagements on our online posts. These was the baseline used to determine if the information being disseminated was reaching the intended target audiences, and would often be included in our reports.

Other Skills

Experience: 2 - 5 years

This skill was put to good use when I was a member of the Writers' Guild, a group of writers that were organized by our Regiment Commander when I was serving in the Philippine Army. Not only did we write scripts for AVPs that aimed to inform and entertain the target audience in relation to the the current events and updates regarding the Army, we also wrote articles that were published in our Regiment's official magazine, the Army Compass.

Experience: 2 - 5 years

The voice lessons taken during my elementary years paved the way for this skill, which was put to good use during my years of service in the Army. Often, the scripts that we wrote for the AVPs to be produced were then given to me, which I then provided the voiceover for. These AVPs varied in genre, from informative videos regarding the most recent Army updates and operations, to dedications to the retired, wounded, or fallen soldiers. Unfortunately, I am still learning audio editing to reinforce this particular skill so that I may be able to produce my own voiceover products, and I do not yet have my own professional equipment, but so far, our editors were able to polish the recordings that I have given them.
