Foundation setup and structure
- Restructure the COA to your specific industry and activity and ensure consistent reporting
- Establish rules and documentation for recording and tracking transfers across entities to meet accounting standards.

Cleanup and catch-up
- Skillfully correct historical errors and bring books up to date for tax filing or
strategic review.
- Cleanly categorize complex or misclassified transactions for accurate reporting.

Day-to-day operations and workflows
- Effectively implement correct process workflows for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and platform settlements (Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, PayPal)
- Consistently provide updates, flag discrepancies, identify missing documents, and
communicate what’s needed to keep books current.
- Controls, reconciliations, and closing
- Monthly reconcile bank, merchant, and clearing accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Timely delivery of reconciled, well-documented books prepared for tax prep and external review.

Compliance and statutory requirements
- Work within IRS and ATO expectations, manage GST/sales tax reporting, VAT and address payroll requirements
- Ensure all records and intercompany entries comply with accepted accounting rules. 

Reporting, forecasting, and strategic insight
- Use worksheets and Excel for cashflow budgeting and forecasting 
- Produce recurring KPI tracking and management reporting to inform pricing, inventory, and marketing decisions
- Translate clean books and KPIs into actionable recommendations for growth, inventory optimization, and channel investment 

Skills build with Strong Taxation and Internal Audit Background
I have 10 years of bookkeeping and 3-year hands-on experience supporting U.S. businesses and trusts. Prior to that, I served 12 years as a Tax Officer, managing tax and reportorial compliance and delivering tax education to small businesses. Part of my job was being an Internal Auditor, which has gained me strong foundation in developing & improving SOPs as well as strengthening internal controls for processes.
