WordPress Performance Engineer (Revenue-Focused)

The Opportunity:
We are a specialised WordPress performance agency based in Brighton, UK. We don’t do design or generic maintenance. We perform Technical Surgery on WordPress sites to stop revenue hemorrhaging. We are scaling rapidly and looking for an elite Performance Engineer to take full ownership of our "5-Stage Performance Triage" process.

The Mission:
You will take a raw client site, run it through our proprietary 5-Stage Triage, identify the bottlenecks, and deliver a client-ready report that translates "technical debt" into "revenue recovered."

Your 5-Stage Workflow (The System You Own):

1 - Core Health Audit: Deep-dive into server response, database bloat, and PHP inefficiencies.
2 - Asset Load Analysis: Identifying bloat, render-blocking resources, and plugin misuse.
3 - Revenue Leak Mapping: Connecting performance metrics directly to user behavior and conversion drop-offs.

The "Fix-It" Roadmap: Creating a clear, prioritized, and actionable strategy.

Execution & Validation: Executing the surgery and proving the results.

Your Role:

Total Ownership: I hand you a paid diagnostic triage order. You own the audit, the report, the client-facing communication, and the final execution. No hand-holding.

Timeline Expectations: The standard turnaround for the initial audit is 3 days, though faster delivery is always preferred. You will be provided with clear timeframes for both auditing and execution.

Revenue Literacy: You must be able to explain to a non-technical business owner exactly how much money they are losing due to site speed—and exactly how your fix will stop the leak.

Deep-Tech Execution: You are a master of the WordPress engine. You fix the root cause, not the symptoms.

We are targeting 2 client reports per week immediately, with a clear path to scale as our outreach engine expands. We are looking for someone who can own this delivery and eventually help us train and manage additional capacity as the agency grows.

The "Proof of Skill" (Paid Trial):
We don't hire based on resumes. We hire based on output. If shortlisted, you will be paid to conduct a "Performance Triage" on a sample site. We want to see how you identify the 3 biggest revenue leaks and how you present your "fix-it" surgery plan.

The "Owner" Mindset: You treat every client site like it’s your own business. You don't need a manager; you need a target.

Deep-Tech Expertise: You can read and write PHP, optimize MySQL queries, and configure server-side caching.

Business Literacy: You can turn technical logs into a professional, persuasive, client-facing PDF.
