Compensation

Hours
- This is a part-time contractor position, typically 5–20 hours per week, depending on current projects and business needs.
- Some weeks may have fewer hours, while others may have more.
- This position is ideal for someone looking for a long-term client rather than a full-time position.

Working with other clients is absolutely fine. We simply ask that you have the energy to do your best work and availability to consistently complete your work and communicate proactively if your schedule changes.

What You'll Do
- Using Descript and its AI features, you'll help create educational and marketing content that helps people around the world.

Responsibilities include:
- Utilize Descript and its AI features to efficiently edit video and audio content.
- Edit long-form podcast interviews for YouTube and audio podcast platforms.
- Create engaging short-form videos (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) from podcast interviews.
- Edit and assemble online course modules from pre-recorded videos.
- Enhance videos with captions, text overlays, titles, lower thirds, transitions, B-roll, images, music, and other visual elements as appropriate.
- Improve pacing, clarity, storytelling, and viewer engagement.
- Organize media files and project folders.
- Help create and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities to improve editing workflows and efficiency.
- Continue learning new editing techniques and AI tools as the business grows.
- Communicate, document your progress or where you need help
- Share creative ideas for improvement

Experience with other editing software is welcome, but work for this position will primarily be completed in Descript. Candidates who demonstrate actual usage and knowledge with Descript may have an advantage. However, candidates who are honest about their usage and have a desire to learn are also encoraged to apply.

Preferred Experience
- Experience editing video and audio.
- Experience using Descript is preferred.
- Experience creating YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, or similar short-form content.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in video editing and continuous learning.
- Excellent spoken and written American English.
