QA Engineer
Location: Remote
Type: Full-time
About the Role
Pronexis is looking for a QA Engineer to join our AI Ops team and help ensure the reliability and quality of our franchise technology platform. You'll work closely with our development team, Product Owners, and Scrum Master to test features across our LAMP/Laravel backend and React frontends, catch issues before they hit production, and help build out our testing practices — including automation — as the team scales.
This role covers the full Pronexis system, not just AI-specific features. You'll need to get familiar with our platform end-to-end: core workflows, integrations, and the AI-driven pieces alike. The role touches everything from manual exploratory testing to structured test planning, test automation, regression testing, and release verification.
What You'll Do
Write and execute test plans and test cases for new features and bug fixes
Build, execute, and maintain automated test suites alongside manual exploratory testing across web application flows
Test integrations with third-party platforms (CRMs, voice/telephony systems, etc.)
Verify fixes and features across staging and production environments, understanding the differences between them (staging DB schema, cron jobs, daily refresh cycles)
Log, triage, and track defects clearly in Jira, with enough detail for developers to reproduce and fix
Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, review, retro) and flag quality risks early
Collaborate with developers to understand root causes, not just symptoms
Contribute to and help maintain release testing checklists and regression suites
Support release verification alongside QA release notes and versioning practices
Must-Haves
Solid experience testing web applications built on PHP/Laravel (or similar LAMP-stack environments)
Comfortable testing React-based frontends
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools/frameworks (Playwright,Cypress, PHPUnit, Selenium, or similar) — this role expects you to build and maintain automation, not just run manual passes
Strong manual testing skills — able to design test cases from a ticket/spec without hand-holding
Experience writing clear, reproducible bug reports
Familiarity with Jira or similar issue tracking tools
Understanding of basic QA concepts: regression testing, smoke testing, edge cases, test coverage
Experience testing AI-driven features or LLM-based workflows
Willingness and ability to learn the full Pronexis platform — this role isn't scoped to AI features only
Nice-to-Haves
Experience testing CRM or franchise/field-service platforms (ServiceMinder, Jobber, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro)
Experience testing voice/telephony integrations (Twilio or similar)
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Familiarity with API testing (Postman or similar)
What Success Looks Like
Within your first few months, you're independently owning test coverage for assigned features, catching real issues before release, writing bug reports developers can act on without follow-up questions, and helping the team tighten up regression testing as we scale.
