We are Certify Group, an Australian company on a mission to help 50,000 Australian men and women get their skills formally recognised without spending months of their lives and thousands of dollars going back to a classroom for things they already know how to do. We are building the systems, the AI infrastructure, and the platform (Folio) that will take this company to an exit within the Australian VET sector where you will share in the upside.
We are not hiring someone to fill a seat. We are hiring someone to work shoulder to shoulder with our CTO, Anthony, one of the fastest and most capable builders you will ever meet. Your job is to rise to his level, match his speed, add to his brilliance, and multiply what our tech team can ship.

THE UNAPOLOGETIC EXPECTATIONS
We are direct people. Here is exactly what working here looks like:
1. **You work Sydney hours.** 8am to 5pm AEST, Monday to Friday, every day, on time, camera on when needed.
2. **You are available when it matters.** When the founder or CTO needs something urgent, you answer. When a launch is on, you stay on until it ships. Overtime happens and you are okay with that. We do not want someone who clocks off mid crisis.
3. **You move at uncommon speed.** Our first value is Speed. We ship in days what other companies ship in months. You will be expected to build, test, and deliver at a pace that most developers would call unreasonable. We call it Tuesday.
4. **You own outcomes, not activity.** Nobody here gets credit for being busy. You get credit for shipped, working, tested systems.
5. **You come in already fluent.** We will not be teaching you React, GoHighLevel, APIs, or AI tools. You arrive knowing them and you learn our systems and infrastructure faster and deeper than anyone else in the building.
6. **You communicate before you are chased.** Progress updates, blockers, and risks come from you first. If we have to ask "where is this at," something has already gone wrong.
## WHAT WE DO NOT TOLERATE (THREE STRIKE RULE)
We run a three strike rule. Three instances of the behaviour below and the contract ends. No drama, no debate.
- Disappearing during work hours or going quiet without notice
- Repeated "internet is down" or "power is out" excuses. You are expected to have backup internet and a backup power plan. This is a condition of the role, not a suggestion
- A pattern of last minute sick days, absences, and excuses that leave the team carrying your work
- Missing deadlines without flagging the risk early
- Handing back work you never tested and calling it done
- Saying yes in meetings and delivering something different
- Generic, copy paste effort in anything, including your application

## THE ROLE
You will work directly with Anthony (CTO) as his right hand builder across every system in Certify Group: our student platform Folio, our CRM and automation stack, our AI agents, our integrations, and our internal operations tooling.
### Full Stack Development
- Design and build modern web applications from concept to deployment
- Frontend in React (or equivalent modern frameworks) with responsive design, state management, and performance optimisation
- Backend APIs in Node.js and Express with authentication, authorisation, and security best practice
- Relational database design and optimisation (PostgreSQL, Supabase, MongoDB, Firebase)
- Clean, documented, production ready code. Debugging, refactoring, and technical debt management
### AI First Development
- You use AI daily as a productivity multiplier: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Lovable, Copilot, Windsurf, Gemini
- Rapid prototyping, AI assisted debugging, testing, and documentation
- Prompt engineering for technical workflows
- You know when to trust AI output and when to validate it yourself. Non negotiable
### CRM Architecture and Automation
- Build and optimise CRM systems (GoHighLevel experience highly valued, plus HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or Pipedrive)
- Pipeline architecture, lead lifecycle design, custom fields, permissions, reporting dashboards, KPI tracking
- Workflow automation across Zapier,
### Integrations and DevOps
- REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth, payment gateways, SMS and
- Git, GitHub, branching, pull requests, CI/CD with GitHub Actions
- Hosting, DNS, SSL, environment variables, production deployments, rollback strategies, monitoring
- Vercel, Netlify, Railway, Render, DigitalOcean, AWS (preferred)
### Systems Thinking and Business Analysis
- You naturally think in systems: find bottlenecks, kill manual work, standardise workflows, design solutions that need minimal maintenance
- You understand businesses, not just code. You translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Advanced Google Workspace skills: Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, validation), Apps Script preferred, dashboards, CSV and data management
### Documentation and Communication
- Technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, API docs, deployment guides, knowledge base articles
- Fluent spoken and written English. You explain technical concepts to non technical people, participate confidently in meetings, record Loom walkthroughs, and keep stakeholders informed without being asked
