JOB OVERVIEW

We are a growing electrical and solar contracting business looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Technical Project Manager and Estimator to join our team long-term. In this role, you will be the backbone of our operations—helping us accurately bid on projects, manage project timelines, and ensure our field teams have everything they need to succeed.
If you have a strong background in reading blueprints, electrical/solar design, and keeping projects organized using modern software, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Takeoffs: Review construction blueprints, architectural drawings, and electrical schematics to perform accurate material and labor takeoffs.
Solar Design & Layout: Utilize tools like HelioScope, Aurora Solar, or AutoCAD to create preliminary solar layouts, shade analyses, and single-line diagrams.
Project Management: Track project milestones, coordinate scheduling between clients and field crews, and ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time.
CRM & Data Management: Keep our CRM (e.g., ServiceTitan / Jobber) up to date with accurate project notes, permits, utilities documentation, and change orders.
Vendor & Client Communication: Follow up with suppliers for material quotes and occasionally update clients on their project status via email or messaging platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical estimating or solar design.
Proficient with digital takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and solar design software.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
High level of proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Asana, ClickUp, Trello, or Smartsheet).
Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring components, and solar PV equipment. (An Electrical Engineering background is a huge plus!).
A reliable internet connection and a computer capable of running design software smoothly.

We receive a lot of automated applications. To prove you are detail-oriented and actually read our requirements, you must follow these exact steps to be considered:
1. Change the subject line of your application to: "Solar Estimator Found - [Insert Your Full Name]"
2. In the first line of your message, please state the top two estimating or solar design software tools you are most proficient in.
3. Provide a brief 2–3 sentence summary of your most relevant electrical or solar project management experience.
4. Attention Test: Somewhere in your application message, please include the phrase "The sun always shines" so we know you read this entire posting.
5. Attach or link to a portfolio, screenshots, or PDF examples of past takeoffs or solar layouts you have personally completed (please redact any confidential client information).
