Business Development Representative (BDR)

Department: Sales & Business Development
Reports To: Director of Sales

Position Summary

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for generating new business opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting and relationship building. This role focuses on identifying qualified prospects, conducting high-volume cold calls, scheduling meetings, and developing a strong sales pipeline for the sales team.

The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, highly organized, goal-oriented, and driven by achieving measurable results.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct 75–150 outbound cold call conversations per day to prospective clients.
Research and identify businesses that may require security services.
Generate qualified leads through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and online research.
Schedule appointments and site visits for the sales team.

Qualify prospects by identifying security needs, budget, timeline, and decision-makers.
Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline using the company's CRM.
Follow up consistently with prospects through phone, email, and text.
Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions and sales activities.

Collaborate with Sales and Operations to ensure a smooth transition from prospect to customer.
Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly lead generation goals.

Daily Activities
Review daily prospecting list.
Make 300 call and land 100 conversations per day
Send follow-up emails and text messages.
Research new target accounts and industries.
Update CRM with call notes and follow-up tasks.
Schedule meetings and demonstrations.
Attend weekly sales meetings and training sessions.

Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, appointment setting, or outbound sales.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable making high-volume cold calls.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience using CRM software is preferred.
Self-motivated with a competitive mindset and positive attitude.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
75–150 outbound call conversations per day
20–30 new qualified leads generated per week
10–15 meetings scheduled per week
CRM updated daily with 100% of activities
Follow-up completed within 24 hours
Monthly lead generation and appointment goals achieved
