Role Summary
Are you a strategic, data-driven Amazon operator who's energized by optimization and brand growth? We're looking for an Amazon Account / Brand Operations Manager to own listing performance, conversion rate optimization, and brand presence across our portfolio. This is a leadership role within Amazon operations — you'll drive account health and sales growth through structured testing and data-backed decisions, not gut calls. This is a long-term seat with real growth potential in a lean, performance-driven team.
We're looking for someone who owns Amazon operations end-to-end for our flagship brand, catches problems before they become escalations, and runs a disciplined test-and-learn process to improve conversion. You'll also provide light support for new brands as Amanak launches them — these are early-stage and won't take up significant time, but you'll help get their Amazon presence off the ground. You'll start by shadowing the founder directly to learn how Amazon operations, promotions, and deal strategy currently run, before taking independent ownership. You'll report directly to the founder and work alongside a Finance/Inventory VA, a dedicated PPC manager, a TikTok affiliate manager, and a co-founder who owns supply chain and forecasting for the flagship brand.
Core Responsibilities
Account & Listing Management
• Own Amazon account management for our flagship brand day-to-day, plus light-touch setup and maintenance support for new brands as Amanak launches them.
• Own day-to-day health of all listings — titles, bullets, descriptions, images, A+ content, and backend keywords — to improve conversion and search ranking.
• Run a weekly account health and listing audit and monitor metrics daily (ODR, policy violations, performance notifications, inventory levels, pricing, Buy Box) — catch issues and bring recommendations before they're urgent, not after.
• Manage Amazon Brand Registry, A+ Content, and Brand Analytics reporting for the flagship brand and any new brand launches.
• Own a running A/B test roadmap (e.g., Amazon Manage Your Experiments) on titles, images, A+ content, and pricing — hypothesis, test, measure, iterate — don't wait to be told what to test.
Customer Service & Reputation
• Own Amazon CS end-to-end: responses, returns, refunds, reviews, and A-to-Z claim management.
• Escalate immediately anything above the agreed A-to-Z claim threshold or any pattern suggesting a product or listing issue.
FBA, Inventory & Reimbursements
• Manage FBA shipment creation, tracking, and receiving reconciliation.
• File and track reimbursement claims with Amazon for lost, damaged, or miscounted inventory.
• Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies with Amazon and carriers.
• Support inventory forecasting by feeding sales velocity and demand signals into the reorder process; flag any SKU approaching the 45-day cover floor to Finance/Inventory. Forecasting decisions and PO placement remain owned by Finance/Inventory.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
• Track competitor activity and market trends to inform pricing and listing strategy.
• Pull and analyze sales, advertising, and traffic reports to identify growth opportunities.
• Deliver a weekly performance summary — sales, conversion, account health, top/bottom ASINs, and CS trends — in a consistent, skimmable format, pulled from Seller Central and Brand Analytics without hand-holding.
Promotions & Cross-Team Coordination
• Run Amazon deals, coupons, and promotions within pre-set parameters (Lightning Deals, coupons, Prime Day/BFCM calendar events).
• Coordinate with the broader team on inventory planning, promotions, and new product launches.
• Feed listing-side inputs (keywords, creative assets, A/B test results) to our dedicated PPC manager — this role does not run PPC campaigns.
Portfolio Support
• Primary ownership sits with the flagship brand — that's the priority, always.
• Provide light-touch Amazon setup and maintenance support for new brands as they launch. These are early-stage and shouldn't consume meaningful time; if a new brand ever starts competing for real bandwidth, flag it rather than letting flagship-brand work slip.
What This Role Does NOT Own
• PPC campaign management — owned by our dedicated PPC manager. This role feeds keyword, creative, and test-result inputs but does not build or run campaigns.
• Pricing, new product decisions, and supplier relationships — these stay with the founder.
• Forecasting ownership and PO placement — this role feeds data in, but Finance/Inventory makes the call.
Requirements
• 2+ years of hands-on experience managing Amazon Seller Central accounts, including across multiple brands or SKUs.
• Experience with Amazon Brand Registry, A+ Content, and Amazon Brand Analytics.
• Direct experience with FBA shipment creation, reconciliation, and the reimbursement/case-filing process.
• Proven experience running structured A/B or split tests on Amazon listings (e.g., Manage Your Experiments) to improve conversion rate.
• Strongly analytical, data-first approach — comfortable forming a hypothesis, testing it, and iterating based on results rather than intuition.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data modeling).
• Working knowledge of inventory forecasting and reorder point calculations, to support — not replace — Finance/Inventory's forecasting process.
• Comfortable building a clean weekly report in Sheets/Excel without a template handed to you.
• Strong written English for CS, reviews, and Amazon case correspondence.
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with Amazon PPC (Sponsored Products/Brands/Display) — not required since we have a dedicated PPC manager, but helpful for speaking the same language on what's working.
• Experience using Claude or other AI tools to support listing optimization, testing analysis, or reporting workflows.
• Experience with third-party tools (Helium 10, Jungle Scout, or similar).
• Exposure to TikTok Shop Seller Central (useful for backup coverage, not a core requirement).
• Experience with regulated or highly compliance-sensitive product categories (e.g., supplements), given our expanding portfolio.
• Prior experience in a lean, founder-led company where ownership matters more than task lists.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
• Weeks 1–2: Shadow the founder on current Amazon operations, the promotion calendar, and deal strategy to learn how things run today before taking ownership.
• Zero missed escalation triggers — account health, A-to-Z claims, days-of-cover — are always caught before the founder has to ask.
• First clean weekly performance report delivered by week 3, consistent by week 6.
• First structured A/B test live, with a documented hypothesis and results readout, by week 6.
• Full independent ownership of flagship-brand Amazon operations by day 90, with new-brand support running smoothly alongside it.
To be considered for this role, please respond to the following:
1. Can you commit to full-time hours, 6:30am–3:00pm PST, Monday–Friday?
2. Describe your internet speed and how often you experience power or internet outages. What is your backup plan if either goes down mid-shift?
3. How many ASINs/SKUs have you managed at once, and across how many separate Amazon brands or accounts?
4. List every task you’ve personally owned on Amazon Seller Central (please be specific, not general — e.g. “rewrote titles/bullets for 40 SKUs and tracked the CVR lift” rather than “managed listings”).
5. Have you personally set up or managed Amazon Brand Registry and A+ Content? Describe one specific example.
6. Have you filed FBA reimbursement claims with Amazon? Roughly how many, and what were the outcomes?
7. Have you run an A/B test on an Amazon listing (e.g., Amazon Manage Your Experiments, Splitly, PickFu)? Describe the test and the result.
8. Please rate yourself 1–10 (10 being expert) on: Google Sheets/Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); Amazon Seller Central; Amazon Brand Analytics; Amazon A+ Content Manager; Amazon Manage Your Experiments or a similar split-testing tool; Canva/Photoshop or similar.
9. Give 3 examples that demonstrate your attention to detail in past Amazon-related work.
10. Describe a time you caught a problem in your data or account before anyone told you about it.
11. How long was your most recent relevant role, and why did it end?
12. What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced in an Amazon operations/VA role, and how did you handle it?
13. What is your long-term career goal?
14. A customer leaves a 1-star review saying the item arrived damaged. Please write the exact response you would post to that review.
