Virtual Bookkeeper / QuickBooks Assistant (Real Estate Portfolio)

Position: Part-Time Virtual Bookkeeper / QuickBooks Assistant
Location: Remote
Hours: 5–10 hours per month initially (potential to grow)
Pay: $5–10/hour based on experience

About Us

We own and manage a growing residential rental portfolio in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. We currently manage 16 rental units and plan to continue expanding. We are looking for a detail-oriented Virtual Assistant with strong QuickBooks Online experience to help maintain accurate financial records and provide monthly reporting.

This is a long-term position for someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable working with real estate bookkeeping.

Responsibilities
Categorize and enter transactions in QuickBooks Online
Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards monthly
Reconcile property management statements
Record rental income and property expenses
Maintain property-specific income and expense tracking
Upload and organize receipts and invoices
Identify uncategorized or unusual transactions
Prepare monthly Profit & Loss reports
Prepare year-end reports for CPA/tax preparation
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across multiple rental properties
Required Skills
QuickBooks Online experience (2+ years preferred)
Strong bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals
Excellent attention to detail
Strong English communication skills
Experience reconciling bank and credit card accounts
Ability to work independently
Comfortable using Excel and Google Sheets
Highly Preferred
Real estate bookkeeping experience
Property management accounting experience
Experience with AppFolio, Buildium, Rent Manager, or similar property management software
QuickBooks Online Certification
Experience creating owner statements and rental property financial reports

Initial Test Project:
Qualified applicants must complete a test project.

You will be provided:

Bank statements
Credit card statements
Property management statements

Your task will be to:

Import transactions into QuickBooks
Categorize expenses correctly
Reconcile accounts
Produce a sample monthly Profit & Loss report
