This role is perfect for a creative, self-motivated individual who thrives on delivering fast-paced, engaging, and well-researched articles in a breaking news style. You’ll have the freedom to brainstorm your own topics, research them thoroughly, and craft compelling stories that captivate sports fans—all while adhering to specific editorial guidelines.

Responsibilities:
- Write concise, impactful "breaking news" style articles (think Axios or ESPN-style brevity and punch) focused on the latest sports events, trades, injuries, and more.
- Independently research sports topics to ensure factual accuracy, originality, and depth in every piece.
- Leverage AI tools (like Grok 3) exclusively for inspiration and topic ideation—full AI-generated sentences or paragraphs are strictly prohibited.
- Edit and proofread your own work to meet high-quality standards and align with our brand’s voice.
- Collaborate with editors to polish content, incorporate feedback, and ensure alignment with company objectives.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in content writing, preferably in sports journalism or breaking news formats.
- Exceptional research skills with the ability to distill complex sports stories into engaging, reader-friendly articles.
- Familiarity with AI tools for brainstorming, paired with a commitment to producing 100% original written content.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining consistency in tone, style, and brand voice.
- Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and self-editing skills to deliver polished drafts.
