JOB OVERVIEW

We are hiring a full-time short-form video editor who lives and breathes the Devin Jatho editing style — fast-paced talking-head edits with high-retention captions, kinetic typography, smooth zooms, motion graphics, and After Effects-driven visual storytelling.

The role splits across two equally important pillars:

Paid ad creatives — Meta, TikTok, and YouTube short-form ads that hook in the first 1.5 seconds, hold attention, and convert.
Organic client content — the videos we shoot in-person for our clients (talking heads, behind-the-scenes, product showcases, branded short-form) edited into polished Reels, TikToks, and Shorts.

You'll be cutting both, so you need to understand what makes content stop the scroll and what makes an ad sell. This is not a captions-only job. If your "Devin Jatho style" stops at animated subtitles, this role isn't for you. We need someone who treats every second of a Reel or ad like a piece of visual choreography — overlays timed to sound design, B-roll cut to the beat, motion graphics that earn attention, and the taste to know when less is more.
Who We Are:
Aspire Media Productions is a content-led marketing agency based in New York, serving local service businesses, healthcare practices, law firms, and the auto aftermarket industry. We shoot premium content for our clients in-person and run paid ad campaigns to scale their results. You'll be editing across multiple niches — one day it's a Lamborghini detail shop, the next it's a wellness clinic — so adaptability matters.

What You'll Be Doing:

Editing paid ad creatives for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube — hook-driven, retention-engineered, conversion-focused short-form videos
Editing organic client content from in-person shoots — 15–60 second talking-head Reels, TikToks, and Shorts in the Devin Jatho aesthetic
Producing multiple ad variations per concept (different hooks, CTAs, pacing tests)
Building animated captions with rhythm, color emphasis, and pacing that drives retention
Creating motion graphics, kinetic text reveals, and AE-based visual elements
Layering in B-roll, PNGs, emojis, sound design, and SFX with intention
Color grading talking-head footage to a clean, premium look
Owning revisions and turnaround times — you ship work that's near-final on the first pass

Required Skills:

Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro AND After Effects (non-negotiable — AE is half the job)
Strong understanding of direct-response ad creative principles — hooks, pattern interrupts, retention curves, CTAs
Ability to edit organic content that feels native to the platform, not "ad-like"
Sound design instincts (you know when to add an SFX and when to let silence hit)
High-level typography taste — captions that enhance the talking head, not distract from it
Color grading fundamentals
Ability to match a brand style guide and edit consistently across clients

Speed: comfortable producing 3–5 polished short-form edits per week minimum, plus ad variations

Bonus Points:

Direct experience editing paid Meta or TikTok ads with documented performance (CTR, ROAS, hook rate)
Experience editing for personal brands, agencies, or content creators in the SMMA / marketing space

Basic Photoshop or Illustrator skills for asset creation

Schedule & Setup:

Full-time contractor role (40 hrs/week)
Some overlap with US Eastern Time required (at least 3–4 hours daily)
Long-term position — we want someone we can grow with for years, not a 3-month gig
