About us
We are an Australian eCommerce business operating across multiple Shopify stores and brands. We've been in online retail for close to 15 years and have built a solid operational foundation - now we're investing in making our systems, integrations and technology work smarter. We're looking for the right person to help us audit, improve and manage what we've built, and help shape what comes next.
The Role:
You'll start with a comprehensive audit of our Shopify stores and the systems that connect them - integrations, custom apps, automations, and more. Once that's done, you'll shift into an ongoing part-time management and improvement role, with real scope to grow as we build out new systems and capabilities.
This isn't a task-taker role. We want someone who can look at how things are connected, spot what's broken or inefficient, and tell us honestly what needs fixing - then do the fixing. We're also beginning to invest seriously in AI-assisted systems and automation, and this role will play a central part in that as it develops & can be a key component to further growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct a thorough audit of our Shopify stores - theme, custom scripts, apps, B2B wholesale functionality, and overall site health
- Audit and document our systems stack - including integrations between Shopify, Cin7 (Dear Inventory), StarShipIT, and Xero
- Review and assess our custom-built apps hosted on Vercel, identifying issues, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Build, manage and improve automation workflows using tools like Make, Zapier, and Notion
- Assist in the development and implementation of AI-assisted systems (including Claude and related tools) to improve business operations
- Maintain and manage ongoing system health, integrations, and Shopify store functionality on a part-time basis post-audit
- Document everything - we want clean, accessible records of how our systems work and how to manage them
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve how our stores and systems operate, and bring ideas to the table
- Rectify issues uncovered during the audit - fixing, rebuilding or replacing where needed
Must Have:
- Solid Shopify development experience - Liquid templating, custom scripts, theme customisation, app integrations
- JavaScript/Node.js experience (our custom apps are Vercel-hosted)
- Experience working with third-party integrations and APIs - connecting platforms via webhooks, REST APIs, and middleware tools
- Hands-on experience with automation platforms - Make (Integromat) and/or Zapier
- Strong documentation habits - you write things down clearly and keep records others can follow
- Excellent written and spoken English - you'll be on calls with us regularly
- A systematic, methodical mindset - someone who can audit a complex setup and give us an honest picture of what they find
- Self-directed - you can work through a problem independently without hand-holding
Nice To Have:
- Experience with Cin7 Core (Dear Inventory), StarShipIT, or Xero integrations
- Familiarity with AI tools and APIs - Claude, ChatGPT, or similar
- Notion workspace setup and management experience
- Experience with Vercel deployments and Next.js
- Prior experience conducting technical audits of eCommerce stores
- Experience working across multiple Shopify stores simultaneously
