Senior Software Engineer / Full-Stack Web Developer

Location: Remote (Headquartered in Sydney, Australia)
Hours: Majority overlap with Sydney business hours

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Web Developer who is confident working across both back-end and front-end systems. This role involves custom PHP development, advanced WordPress builds, JavaScript frameworks, API integrations, and close collaboration with our Sydney-based team.

Responsibilities:

- Build complex PHP applications and custom WordPress CMS solutions.

- Develop modern user interfaces using JavaScript, and exposure to frameworks like React, Node.js, Astro, Bootstrap, and Tailwind is desirable.

- Design and optimise MySQL databases and relational structures.

- Implement and maintain API integrations and custom endpoints.

- Translate business requirements into clear, maintainable software.

- Collaborate using Jira, Slack, and similar tools.

- Use AI tools to reduce development time and increase accuracy.

- Participate in architectural decisions and maintain engineering standards.

- Produce documentation and handle debugging across the stack.

- Optimise applications for performance, security, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility.

- Work consistently with Sydney timezone overlap.

- BYOD with a minimum of two monitors. You will be provided with tools and subscriptions, as needed, to complete your work.


Required Skills:

- Minimum 7 years full-stack development experience.

- Strong PHP and WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins.

- Proficient in JavaScript and exposure to frameworks such as React, Node.js, and Astro.

- Experience with modern CSS practices.

- Solid MySQL experience including schema design and optimisation.

- Proven API integration experience.

- Exposure to native mobile app development is an advantage.

- Excellent written and spoken English.

- High attention to detail and reliable remote work habits.

- Comfortable with CLI tools, SVN, Git, and engineering processes.
