Real Estate Finance Associate

MW is looking for a Real Estate Finance Associate to support the Acquisition Division. A Real Estate Finance Associate is responsible for supporting the financial analysis, structuring of deals, and execution of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and asset management. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, and a deep understanding of real estate markets, debt structures, and investment strategies. Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as spreadsheets, accounting systems, and data visualization platforms, is crucial for this role.

Responsibilities:
• Analyze the numbers, structuring and negotiating financing deals, including term sheets and loan agreements.
• Develop and analyze complex financial models for real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and development projects.
• Collaborate with legal teams, lenders, and investors to facilitate loan closings.
• Participate in all stages of the real estate transaction process, from inception to closing
• Assist in underwriting new real estate investments and financing opportunities such as creative financing strategies (subject two, seller financing)
• Analyze market trends, economic indicators, interest rate movements, and real estate sector performance to inform investment decisions
• Conduct real estate market research to evaluate investment opportunities and economic trends.
• Assess risks associated with different real estate assets and financing structures.
• Stay updated on real estate regulations, tax policies, and financing trends. Actively contribute to internal meetings, including deal discussions and pipeline meetings

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Real Estate or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in real estate finance, investment banking, or a related field.
• Understanding of real estate investment strategies, debt financing, and capital markets.
• A collaborative mindset with a demonstrated interest in residential real estate
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey actionable information clearly through narrative text, statistical tables, graphs, and maps
• An exceptional work ethic
• Must have high proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is a must.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; have outstanding quantitative skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, think creatively, set and exceed goals
• Must be professional, energetic and positive.
