Job Title: Graphic & Packaging Design Specialist
Location: Remote
Type: Contract / Project-Based (By Gig)
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled, technical, and creative freelance Graphic & Packaging Design Specialist to lead the visual development of our physical brand on a project-by-project basis. Our primary focus is finding a true product packaging expert—someone who understands that great packaging is where art meets engineering.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end design process of specific product turnouts—from the initial creative concept to the technical preparation of dyelines for manufacturing. We need an independent contractor who can work efficiently, moving from a blank canvas to a polished, production-ready layout with speed and precision.
(Note: While we love a designer who can do 3D rendering, this is a major plus, not a hard requirement. We care most about your flat packaging and print production skills!)
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Design & Production: Design and execute retail-ready packaging per project brief, including custom boxes, Mylar bags, tube stickers, and label designs.
Technical Dyeline Management: Expertly use and edit dyelines and product outlines, ensuring all deliverables are perfectly aligned for print, including bleeds, safe zones, and technical specs.
Merch Design: Conceptualize and design branded merchandise and apparel as needed.
Marketing Assets: Design high-impact digital and print assets for campaigns, including flyers, insert cards, pop-up banners, and programmatic digital ads.
Brand Consistency: Maintain and uphold the brand’s visual identity across all assigned project deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Portfolio: A strong, diverse portfolio showcasing real-world, production-ready packaging projects (boxes, bags, and stickers are an absolute must).
Technical Expertise: Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator & Photoshop).
Print Mastery: Deep understanding of the technicalities of print production, material finishes, and structural design.
Speed & Efficiency: Proven ability to complete project milestones quickly while maintaining a high standard of polished, "retail-ready" work.
Independence: A reliable self-starter who can interpret project briefs with minimal oversight and provide proactive design solutions.
Communication: Excellent written English and the ability to manage agreed-upon project timelines reliably.
Nice to Have (Plusses)
3D & Image Rendering: Ability to create high-end 3D renderings or GLB files of finished packaging for web visuals and marketing materials (not required, but a huge bonus).
Experience working with eCommerce or consumer brands (specifically within the hemp or wellness space).
Familiarity with paid media creative requirements and visual storytelling.
Understanding of the manufacturing process for different packaging materials.
Why Work With Us?
Fully Remote & Flexible: Work from anywhere on your own schedule, provided project deadlines and milestones are met.
Creative Impact: You will be the primary hands-on designer shaping the look and feel of our physical product line launches.
Consistent Ongoing Gigs: We are a fast-moving brand looking to build a long-term relationship with a go-to contractor for reliable, recurring future projects.
To Apply: Please submit your resume, your baseline contract/hourly rates, and a link to your working portfolio.
Note: Applications without a portfolio showcasing actual packaging design work will not be reviewed. (If you have 3D rendering samples, please highlight them!)
