Job Overview
We are a fast-growing Shopify direct-to-consumer (DTC) sleep technology brand, and we are looking for a highly analytical, sharp, and proactive Creative Strategist for Meta Ads.
To be incredibly clear: This is NOT a graphic design or video editing role. You will not be pushing pixels in Figma or editing timelines in Premiere.
You are the architect of our ad account. Your job is to conduct deep market research, understand consumer psychology, develop high-converting direct response (DR) angles, and write airtight creative briefs for our design and editing teams. You must understand why people buy and know how to structure a scroll-stopping hook and a persuasive script that sells.
If you are someone who waits to be handed a list of ideas to brief, or if you just guess what might look "cool" without looking at the data, this is not the role for you. We need a strategic powerhouse who owns the creative testing roadmap from insight to execution to analysis.
Core Responsibilities
- Deep Avatar & Market Research: Obsessively research our target demographic. You will scour competitor ad libraries, mine customer reviews, read Reddit threads, and analyze TikTok comments to uncover hidden pain points and desires.
- Angle & Concept Ideation: Develop original, direct response advertising angles. You will translate your research into structured concepts (e.g., problem/solution, Us vs. Them, scientific proof/temperature control comparisons, emotional triggers).
- Airtight Creative Briefing: Write highly detailed, idiot-proof creative briefs and video scripts for our designers and editors. Your briefs must clearly define the hook, the visual layout, the on-screen text, the pacing, and the core CTA.
- Creative Performance Analysis: You won't just launch briefs and forget them. You will actively analyze performance data in Meta Ads Manager and our attribution software (e.g., Northbeam, Triple Whale) to diagnose hook rates, thumb-stop ratios, and CPA. You must be able to explain why an ad won or lost.
- Testing Roadmap Management: Build and manage our weekly creative testing pipeline, ensuring a consistent flow of fresh concepts, iterative variations of winning ads, and new format tests.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Direct Response Mastery is Mandatory: You must have a deep, proven understanding of what makes a Meta ad convert. You know the anatomy of a winning ad, consumer psychology, and how to structure a pitch that drives immediate action.
- Exceptional Copywriting & Scripting: Flawless written English. You must be able to write punchy, persuasive video scripts, ad copy, and headlines that resonate with a US-based consumer.
- Data Literacy: You must be comfortable reading data. You know the difference between a creative problem (low hook rate) and a landing page problem (high CTR, low CVR), and you use that data to guide your next brief.
- Proactive & Independent: You do not need to be micromanaged. You independently spot fatigue in our ad account, research what competitors are scaling, and pitch your own concepts.
- Reliable Setup: High-speed internet connection (with a backup plan) and a reliable computer.
Nice-to-Haves (Not Mandatory)
- Prior experience strategizing for sleep-tech, health/wellness, or high-AOV premium home goods brands.
- Familiarity with creative research and saving tools like Foreplay or Atria.
