Medical Billing Specialist (Epic Experience Required)

Salary: $1,500 USD/month
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM CST (40 hours/week)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Medical Billing Specialist to join our client’s finance and back office team. This position supports a leading multi-site orthopedic healthcare provider in the U.S. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end billing and accounts receivable workflows, working within the Epic EMR platform and helping the team maintain smooth revenue operations with minimal supervision.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is confident in navigating the nuances of U.S. medical billing. Epic experience is required.

Responsibilities:

- Manage end-to-end billing workflows for orthopedic care, including claim submission, tracking, and resolution.
- Ensure correct use of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
- Work within Epic EMR to manage billing functions and reporting.
- Collaborate with U.S.-based teaUpgrade to see actual infombers to resolve claim rejections and discrepancies.
- Oversee payment posting, AR follow-up, and collections processes.
- Generate weekly reports on reimbursements and claim status.
- Support overflow scheduling needs during high-volume periods.
- Communicate professionally via Slack, Zoom, and email with U.S.-based staff.

What We’re Looking For:

- 5+ years of experience in U.S. medical billing (orthopedic or surgical specialties preferred).
- Epic EMR experience is mandatory—must be confident in navigating Epic for all billing-related tasks.
- Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare insurance systems and reimbursement models.
- Fluent spoken and written English (minimal accent required).
- Comfortable working during U.S. Central Time business hours (8 AM – 5 PM CST).
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ownership mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
