Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing processes, including proficiency in ICD and CPT coding, as well as the ability to verify insurance benefits accurately.

Responsibilities:

Utilize ICD and CPT coding systems to accurately code diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes.
Verify insurance benefits and coverage for patients.
Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper as needed.
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintain patient billing records and update information as necessary.
Provide excellent customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or similar role.
Proficiency in ICD and CPT coding systems.
Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance procedures.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in billing and coding.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of medical billing software (e.g., Upgrade to see actual inforono).
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS-P) is a plus.
Prior experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
