Long-Form Documentary Video Editor for YouTube Channel

We are hiring a long-form documentary video editor to collaborate on a cinematic, story-driven YouTube channel.
This role is not for short-form content, TikTok, or IG Reels.

You will be editing 10–40 minute documentary videos built from long interviews, observational footage, natural sound, and B-roll. You are expected to shape the narrative, not simply assemble clips.

This is a remote, long-term role intended to grow into a consistent collaboration with a serious documentary creator.

We expect to start part-time, with the opportunity to scale hours based on performance, reliability, and creative alignment.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Crafting clear narrative arcs from raw footage
- Selecting strong soundbites and emotional ---------- nts
- Creating intentional pacing (knowing when not to cut)
- Cleaning dialogue and designing sound thoughtfully
- Using music purposefully
- Delivering polished long-form documentaries ready for YouTube

- Organized, patient, and detail-oriented
- Interested in long-term collaboration, not one-off gigs

Who This Role Is NOT For:
- Shorts-only or social-media editors
- CapCut / template-based workflows
- Anyone looking for quick turnaround, high-volume editing work

Compensation and Timeline
• Intended as a full-time role
• Starts part-time (10–30 hrs/week) during a short paid trial period
• Scales to 40–50 hrs/week after a successful trial
• Salary based on experience and output
• Opportunity to scale hours based on performance
• Paid test project for finalists
• Target start date: Late February 2026

How We Work:
• Fully remote role
• Primary communication: Slack (async updates) + ---------- (video feedback)
• You must be comfortable with Loom video messages and written communication
• Need 3–4 hours overlap with US Eastern Time for real-time collaboration
