JOB OVERVIEW

We’re a US-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) hiring a motivated Junior IT Engineer (Level 1.5) to join our remote team. This role sits between Level 1 and Level 2, ideal for someone with a year or two of hands-on IT support experience who’s ready to take on more responsibility, learn MSP best practices, and begin handling escalations and small projects under mentorship.

If you enjoy troubleshooting, customer-facing support, and growing technical skills in Microsoft 365, endpoints, and basic networking, this role is for you.

What you’ll do
• Provide day-to-day remote support for end users: desktops, laptops (Windows & Mac), printers, and common software applications
• Triage tickets in the PSA/ticketing system, resolve routine issues, and escalate appropriately to senior engineers
• Assist with account lifecycle tasks: user onboarding/offboarding, password resets, mailbox access, and permissions
• Perform basic Microsoft 365 tasks (user creation, license assignment, mailbox troubleshooting) and assist with Intune enrollment/device management
• Support routine PC maintenance, imaging, software installs/patching, and hardware swaps
• Help troubleshoot basic network issues (connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN) and escalate network/security issues to L2/L3
• Document work clearly in ticketing and knowledge base articles for repeatable solutions
• Participate in scheduled maintenance, backups validation, and simple project tasks under guidance
• Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to clients and internal stakeholders

Technologies you’ll work with
• Operating systems: Windows 10/11, macOS (basic)
• Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive) and Azure AD/Entra ID fundamentals
• Endpoint management: Intune (or other MDM) basics
• Basic networking: switches, Wi?Fi, VPN troubleshooting; familiarity with Cisco/Ubiquiti/Fortinet is a plus
• PSA/RMM: ConnectWise, NinjaOne, Datto RMM, or similar (experience preferred but not required)
• Virtualization/backup fundamentals: VMware ESXi, Veeam (basic exposure is helpful)

Minimum qualifications
• 1–3 years of hands-on IT support experience (help desk, desktop support, or similar)
• Solid customer service and communication skills — able to explain technical issues to non-technical users
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn through hands-on work and mentoring
• Experience using ticketing systems and documenting work clearly
• Reliable remote work setup (quiet workspace + stable internet)

Strongly preferred / nice-to-have
• Prior MSP or multi-client support experience
• CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Fundamentals (or similar) certification
• Basic PowerShell or scripting familiarity for simple automation tasks
• Experience with Intune/MDM enrollment and basic Azure AD tasks
• Exposure to networking hardware (Ubiquiti, Cisco, Fortinet) or VPN troubleshooting
