Job Title: Interior design Draftsperson

The ideal candidate will be an expert in AutoCAD and Revit, with the ability to produce comprehensive interior design spec books that support our projects from concept to completion.

Job Description:

As an Interior Design Draftsperson, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings, plans, and documentation for interior design projects.

You will work closely with our design team to translate concepts into precise technical drawings and develop full spec books that include all necessary details, materials, finishes, and fixtures.

Your expertise in AutoCAD and Revit will be crucial in ensuring that our designs are accurately represented and executable.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed interior design drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed joinery drawings, using AutoCAD and Revit.

Create comprehensive interior design spec books that include material selections, finishes, fixtures, furniture, and equipment schedules.

Collaborate with interior designers and project managers to ensure that designs are accurately represented and meet project requirements.

Produce 3D models and visualizations to support design presentations and client approvals.

Coordinate with other design professionals, including architects and engineers, to integrate interior design with overall project goals.

Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with industry standards and local building codes.

Review and revise drawings and spec books based on feedback from the design team and clients.

Assist in the preparation of project documentation for permits and construction.

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
Extensive experience as a Draftsperson in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
Strong understanding of interior design principles, materials, and finishes.
Ability to produce detailed and accurate drawings, plans, and spec books.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with design teams and clients.
Familiarity with local building codes and industry standards.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with additional design software, such as SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or 3ds Max.
Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials.Experience working on high-end residential or commercial interior design projects.
