Illustrator

Brist Mfg., WA, USA manufacturer of custom apparel and merchandise is seeking an accomplished illustrator to accurately interpret and illustrate artwork representative of our customer’s brands. Your experience and portfolio must demonstrate accomplishments and efficient processes, the ability to align creative strategies with our customer markets, and the ability to hit the mark and generate solid performance.

This position works collaboratively with our USA managing design leads and stakeholders and is responsible for managing multiple projects, customer/brand types, and exposure to large volumes of work and tight deadlines. You must have incredibly strong organizational skills, intrinsic illustration and design ability, typographic skills, and acute attention to detail.

We require advanced mastery in written and verbal English, the ability to align with USA Pacific Coast, Brist Mfg. working hours, and ERP/project management software and systems experience. Apparel and merchandise experience is a plus!

Position Summary:

As an experienced Illustrator, you will have a direct impact on the success of the brand, the quality of the products we produce, and the trust we build with our customers. You will be expected to bring a comprehensive understanding of illustration, design, typography, and the creative tools necessary to execute a wide range of artwork styles and techniques. You will explore and implement innovative solutions that align with both Brist Mfg. sales objectives and our customer’s brand and merchandise strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Illustrate a range of designs for screen print graphics, patches, headwear, custom apparel, and other other branded merchandise items
Use company systems to manage design queue and workflow(s) to ensure project timelines are met
Collaborate with other designers, sales staff, and clients to bring ideas to life through a range of different visual techniques
Think conceptually and communicate effectively with internal team
Be curious, be open to learning new methods, ask questions, when in doubt seek out team members for assistance
Leverage efficiencies that will move projects forward
Aid in the development of creative assets
Consult with creative director, and/or other team members as needed on complex or specialized projects

Experience & Requirements:

Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
Exceptional examples of art/illustration portfolio samples available for review on-line
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Ability to balance multiple clients and projects simultaneously
Positive, problem solving attitude
Ability to work cross collaboratively with the others
Exceptional English speaking and writing skills, ability to understand, communicate, and delegate creative solutions that address specific client goals
Responds well to feedback and direction
Creative, inspired, well organized, and detail-oriented
