We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide administrative and operational support across the full employee lifecycle in a fast-paced, multi-site construction organization. This role is critical to ensuring accurate execution of HR processes, maintaining compliance, and delivering a consistent employee experience across office and field teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and experience supporting HR operations in a construction or multi-site environment. This position focuses on coordination, data integrity, and process execution while building foundational HR expertise in a collaborative, guidance-supported environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records across HRIS and internal systems.
Support document management, including I-9s, personnel files, and compliance documentation.
Track and audit HR data for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Assist with maintaining HR policies, forms, and standard operating procedures.
Support HR reporting and data requests to leadership.
Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications across multiple projects and locations.
Prepare offer letters, new hire packets, and onboarding documentation.
Facilitate onboarding logistics, including orientation scheduling and system setup.
Partner with field teams to ensure smooth onboarding of craft and project staff.
Support pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screens, and certifications.
Serve as a first point of contact for routine HR inquiries from employees and supervisors.
Provide support for benefits administration and enrollment processes.
Assist with timekeeping, payroll coordination, and issue resolution.
Help promote a positive employee experience across office and field teams.
Maintain employee files in accordance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
Track required certifications such as OSHA training, licenses, and safety compliance.
Support internal audits and external compliance reviews.
Ensure adherence to company policies, union agreements, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with HR initiatives such as employee engagement, retention programs, and training coordination.
Support rollout of HR policies and company-wide communications.
Provide administrative support for HR projects and process improvements.
Help coordinate company activities across dispersed teams and job sites.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 5 years of HR, administrative, or operations experience.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across locations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
Experience supporting construction, manufacturing, or multi-site operations.
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and timekeeping/payroll systems.
U.S. experience required.
