JOB OVERVIEW

Design Lead | Editor-in-Chief for Visual Content

Join a Purpose-Driven Design House Crafting Beautiful, Faith-Filled Print Products

We’re looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented Design Lead to join our growing team and serve as Editor-in-Chief for Visual Content — ensuring the creative integrity, visual consistency, and emotional tone of our client projects from concept to delivery. If you’re someone who loves systematizing beauty, has an eye for modern, clean design, finds joy in guiding others to produce their best work, and cares deeply about creating meaningful work that uplifts others — this role might be for you.

We are a purpose-driven growing Design House creating multi-page custom planners, journals, faith based devotionals, and print products for visionary clients. Our team is creative, collaborative, kind, and passionate about bringing meaning to beautiful design.

What You’ll Do:
• Review onboarding materials to determine structure, tone, and design direction for each project
• Create a visual roadmap (Design Mapping) that identifies master pages, repeated elements, and design priorities
• Support design team by providing overall/general creative direction (ex: tone, typography suggestions, mood guidance)
Review and approve design work before it’s passed to full build-out
• Ensure that all design files meet aesthetic standards
• Collaborate with the Design Team to support growth, consistency, and clarity
• Partner with the Project Manager to ensure timelines, expectations, and assignments are aligned
• Support in refining and clarifying feedback before it reaches the client

Who This Role is Ideal For:
direction
• A mid to senior designer who enjoys creative systems and high-level direction
• Someone with an editorial eye for layout, typography, and emotional tone
• A visual communicator who cares deeply about helping others feel something through good design
• Someone who enjoys quality-checking work and supporting other designers without micro-managing
• A person who thrives on intentionality, clarity, and creative excellence
• Someone who’s passionate about purpose-driven work and feels comfortable working in a faith-forward environment
• A strong communicator who is kind, constructive, and values alignment in tone and mission

Who This Role is NOT For:
• Someone who prefers hands on creation — this role is more about refining, elevating, and directing
• A solo creative who struggles to give or receive feedback with grace
• Someone new to layout design or unfamiliar with printed products
• Beginners or hobbyists – while we all start somewhere, this role requires strong foundational design understanding and leadership skills

Requirements:
• A background in design, layout, or creative direction
• Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat (Canva and Illustrator are bonuses)
• Experience with print products like planners, journals, devotionals, or similar
• Ability to give encouraging, clear feedback that helps designers grow
• Access to a reliable computer with Adobe software
• A heart for excellence, service, and meaningful, faith-aligned work

Work Details:
Type: Part-Time (15–20 hours/week to start)
Schedule: Flexible with some EST overlap for meetings
Tools: Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Google Drive, Loom, Upgrade to see actual info
