JOB OVERVIEW

We're a growing direct-to-consumer ecommerce brand running paid social campaigns across multiple international markets (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, and the US). We're looking for a sharp, curious creative strategist to own our market research and turn raw audience insight into winning ad angles.

This is a role for someone who loves digging into what makes customers tick and translating that into creative that converts. You won't just summarise data. You'll find the insight everyone else missed and shape it into the angle that sells.

What you'll be responsible for:

Owning customer and market research end to end: mining Reddit, TikTok comments, Facebook groups, reviews, and forums for the exact language customers use about their problems and desires
Building and maintaining a clear picture of our target audiences: their pain points, motivations, objections, and buying triggers in each market
Researching competitors and the broader category to spot gaps, weaknesses, and opportunities for differentiation
Identifying market trends and shifts in how customers think about the product category
Translating research into clear, sharp creative angles and hooks for paid social ads
Briefing and developing ad concepts grounded in real customer insight, not guesswork
Helping analyse ad performance (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, ROAS) to understand why ads win or lose, and feeding those learnings back into the next round
Documenting insights so they compound over time instead of getting lost

What I expect from you:

Genuinely curious and resourceful: you go three threads deep to find the real insight
Strong grasp of direct-response and paid social fundamentals (Meta especially)
Able to spot the emotional driver behind a purchase, not just the surface feature
Excellent written English with a clear, persuasive, natural voice
Comfortable with ambiguity: you can take a vague brief and come back with sharp direction
Data-literate: you can read ad metrics and draw the right conclusion from them
Self-managing, reliable, and able to turn research into output that's actually usable

Nice to have:

Experience writing or briefing paid social ad creative and scripts
Familiarity with direct-response copy principles and frameworks
Understanding of awareness and sophistication stages in advertising
Ecommerce or DTC background

Communication:

Day-to-day communication with me and the team happens through Slack and WhatsApp, so you'll need to be responsive and reachable on both during your working hours.
