We are launching a **new cargo van and dump truck transportation business** and need a **highly skilled, results-driven professional** who can **confidently structure the business and acquire contracts from day one**. This is **not a learning opportunity** or a trial-and-error situation—we need someone with the **proven ability to take a business from the ground up and structure it for long-term success** while securing **government, municipal, local, and private contracts**.
We have **many applicants**, but we are only looking for the **best fit**—someone who can **confidently** build this business from scratch and position it for **consistent and profitable contract opportunities**. If you have **experience successfully acquiring loads and contracts** and know **exactly what it takes to structure a transportation company for success**, we want to hear from you.
### **Key Responsibilities:**
- **Strategically structure our new business** to meet compliance and industry requirements for contract eligibility.
- **Secure government, municipal, local, and private contracts** for freight hauling, debris removal, and local delivery using cargo vans and dump trucks.
- **Research procurement opportunities** on platforms such as
- **Obtain necessary certifications and registrations** (SAM registration, DOT/MC numbers, DBE, MBE, etc.).
- **Develop and execute a strategic approach** to bidding and networking with procurement officers, brokers, and general contractors.
- **Ensure all insurance, bonding, and financial requirements** are in place for contract eligibility.
- **Establish relationships with brokers, local businesses, and direct shippers** to secure a steady and profitable flow of loads.
- **Seek out local contracts** with construction companies, waste management services, logistics firms, and other businesses in need of transportation services.
- **Advise on pricing strategies, proposal writing, and contract negotiation** to maximize revenue.
### **Qualifications & Experience:**
- **Extensive knowledge of contract acquisition and load sourcing**, with a track record of **successfully securing contracts** in the transportation/logistics industry.
- **Proven ability to structure a business correctly from the start**, including compliance, certifications, and financial structuring.
- Strong understanding of **procurement processes, RFPs, bidding, and vendor requirements**.
- Experience with **government contracting, broker agreements, and direct shipper negotiations**.
- **Expertise in obtaining certifications** such as:
- **Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)**
- **Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)**
- **Small Business Enterprise (SBE)**
- **8(a) Certification (if applicable)**
- **Women-Owned Business Certification (if applicable)**
- Ability to **build strong relationships** with contracting officers, brokers, shippers, and local business owners.
- **Experience setting up business banking, insurance, and financial structures** to qualify for contracts.
- Strong skills in **proposal writing, bid preparation, and contract negotiation**.
### **How to Apply (READ CAREFULLY!)**
Because we have **many applicants**, we are only considering those who **can clearly explain how they will contribute to the success of this business**.
**To be considered:**
- **Read this entire job posting carefully.**
- In your application, **elaborate on your specific experience** and explain **exactly how you will structure this business and secure contracts (government, municipal, local, and private).**
- Provide real examples of contracts you’ve secured or businesses you’ve helped set up successfully.
We are **not looking for someone who can "somewhat" do this job**—we need someone who **knows exactly how to get this business fully operational and highly profitable** from the start. If that’s you, apply now!
