JOB OVERVIEW

We help people in the U.S. find practical solutions for managing and reducing their student loan debt through clear, informative content.

We're seeking a highly skilled Content Specialist who excels in creating clear, actionable content and can think strategically about content planning. This role focuses on writing high-quality, optimized content while leveraging AI tools for efficiency and assisting with content strategy.

###
Responsibilities:

- Write three new articles per week and optimize two to three existing articles for SEO performance.

- Use AI tools effectively to research, outline, and draft articles with minimal supervision.

- Develop content briefs based on topical authority and keyword intent.

- Contribute to content strategy by identifying content gaps and opportunities for expansion based on SEO tools and competitor analysis.

- Build and refine topical authority maps to guide long-term content planning.

- Conduct basic research from authoritative sources (e.g., government sites, legal references) to ensure accuracy.

- Collaborate with the content team on article planning, internal linking strategies, and content clustering.

###
What You’ll Bring:

- Proven experience in content writing with a focus on educational or financial topics.

- Ability to write clear, jargon-free, and audience-focused content.

- Strong familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity) for content generation and optimization.

- Experience with SEO research tools such as SEMrush, Surfer SEO, and Clearscope.

- Understanding of topical authority and how to create content clusters.

- Attention to detail with excellent fact-checking and research skills.

- Comfortable adapting to brand guidelines and writing frameworks.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to self-manage deadlines and quality.

###
Ideal Candidate Traits:

- Strategic Thinker: Understands content planning beyond single posts—able to think about site-wide authority and content relationships.

- AI-Literate Writer: Comfortable using AI tools not as a crutch but as a way to enhance productivity and quality.

- Self-Directed: Capable of managing tasks independently without daily oversight.

- Growth-Minded: Open to feedback and continually improving writing and strategy skills.

###
Our Values and Culture:

We value loyalty, transparency, and personal growth. We go above and beyond for our team, including providing 13 months' pay, many holidays off, and fostering a family-first work environment. We expect honesty and open communication, as trust is essential to our success as a small, tightly-knit team.

###
Work Hours and Availability:

This is a full-time role requiring approximately 40 hours per week. We require availability to overlap with U.S. Eastern Standard Time at least two days per week from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM EST for team collaboration.

###
Application Process:

To apply, please submit a thoughtful application that clearly explains why you’re a great fit for this role based on the skills and experience outlined above. Please include specific examples of how you’ve met similar expectations in previous roles. Additionally, to confirm attention to detail, include the name of the new incoming U.S. Secretary of Education in your response.
