Job Summary:
As a Civil Engineer focusing on grading plans and street improvement plans at EM SoCal Engineering, you will collaborate with our project management teams to design and oversee the execution of grading and site development plans for various construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, advanced problem-solving skills, and a strong background in soil mechanics and hydrology principles.
Responsibilities:
Develop and design detailed grading plans and street improvement plans that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Analyze topographical and geotechnical data to determine the most effective land use.
Coordinate with environmental engineers, landscape architects, and urban planners.
Perform stormwater management system calculations and design.
Ensure projects adhere to all environmental constraints and sustainability practices.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
Review and approve project submissions and proposals from contractors.
Manage multiple projects from conception through completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on grading, site development and street improvement plans.
Proficient in civil design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD).
Strong understanding of construction processes, soil mechanics, and environmental regulations.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
