Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time, with a 30-minute break
Salary: $1,400/month
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing property management company. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of residential rental properties. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting activities for multiple residential properties.
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including income, expenses, and journal entries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Review rent collections, owner distributions, and property-related expenses for accuracy.
Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper financial documentation.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for property owners and management.
Coordinate with property management and operations teams regarding financial matters.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
Assist with audit preparation and other accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Experience with property management or real estate accounting is preferred.
Experience with AppFolio or similar property management/accounting software is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
