Software Functional Tester

As a functional tester, I am involved in doing the following tasks: • Utilize requirements specifications, design documents while working alongside software developers to become knowledgeable on the solution features. • Develop thorough test plans in a timely and efficient manner for all areas of the solution. • Work with development and other QA team members to evaluate solution functionality and business rules while recommending improvements. • Test software for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to established standards. • Develop, write and execute test cases during system integration, user acceptance and regression testing phases of solution development. • Identify and document software defects during program evaluation and testing using recommended tools. • Follow quality assurance standards, processes, and controls. • As appropriate, prepare documentation and training materials to user groups. • Provide User/Business Acceptance Testing support as required. • Strict adherence and application of configuration management procedures for changes to application system. • Provide necessary support to other team members as required to help deliver systems on schedule and with high quality • Perform application health checks to reduce errors in deployment.
